Bargain on the East side just steps from 59th. My friend passed Lezzet and got a good feel, so she suggested it for lunch while we were in the 59th/Lex area. Their menu is full of attractive sounding Mediterranean plates, plus soups, sides and desserts. I had chicken adana, which came with a cup of lentil soup, rice and salad on the side. There were veggie options as well. Very ample portions. We sat at a high top near the bar, and the staff was attentive, refilling our water glasses/checking in regularly. They never rushed us, gave us all the time we wanted to chat and visit. Lunch for two including tip was under $60 for a white tablecloth experience.

Brought me back fond memories of Turkey! Turkish Apple tea and my part of three shared a large kunefe! Staff was super friendly and accommodating despite we were only there for the dessert and not a full meal. Background music was calming, it was a perfect ambiance for an afternoon tea.

This Turkish delicacy is called "ali nazik", mainly a bed of eggplant puree (like hot babaganoush) topped with spiced meat, usually lamb. Was very good.

My friend Rochelle and I took a " trip" to Istanbul today.. well trekked to UES to dine on Turkish cuisine. Our palates were in a Mediterranean state of mind. Rochelle suggested dining here because she has visited several times and enjoys the cuisine. We opted to dine Al fresco in their semi heated habitat due to a filled indoor scene. I gave to admit I was freezing my tuchus off. Lezzet offers a terrific menu where one can choose from various salads: the Shepherd Salad really caught my eye with chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, onions in a lemon, vinegar and oil dressing. But, I saw my true fave, eggplant salad and we decided to share that as an appetizer. Their cold appetizers range from tabouleh, hummus and babaghannous. The hot appetizers include lentil soup, various shish kebabs and of course falafel. The eggplant salad was delicious: smoked eggplant mashed with garlic and red pepper. A dish I will finally make at home, simple and hearty. For our main entrees, Rochelle ate the stuffed cabbage leaves that are filled with rice, ground lamb, onions, tomatoes and dill. It's served with yogurt that is drizzled on to leaves. The portion was generous and filling. It is an entree that two people can share. I noticed wraps on their website but didn't see it on their menu but you can order a wrap just ask for it. My wrap contained the chicken shish kebab, tomatoes and cucumbers accompanied with a yogurt dill sauce and spicy red sauce. The wrap was great and I took half home. The interior is small and cozy with a small bar and booth seating. There is a back party room as well. The service was extremely attentive and our waiter was so accommodating, even gave me the eggplant salad recipe. My " trip" to Istanbul was great and I will definitely be back.

We popped in here for a quick lunch over the holidays. It's more on the fancy side than a lunch spot. The food was good. We shared hummus, baba ganoush, a large salad and some Turkish lamb dishes. A bit expensive, but probably par for the course for NYC!

Pretty solid Turkish fare! We were a party of 4 and everyone enjoyed their food. We started with the Babaganoush, which had a wonderful, garlicky taste. Shepherd salad had a lot of flavor, and the Yogurt Kaebab was especially delicious, with really tender chicken (not at all dry, which I hate). We sat outdoors, which was heated (the late October chill had definitely set in) - very comfortable. I would definitely return to try more dishes.

I've passed by this Turkish restaurant on a number of occasions, and wanted to try the lunch or dinner special. However, my friend and I came during the weekend, so we were only able to have regular lunch here. There was plenty of outdoor dining, but my friend and I chose indoor dining, which felt nice and cool. The place is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were served complimentary bread with olive oil, along with some flavorful seasoning. This bread was still warm, fluffy, soft, and oh so tasty! For my meal, I was going to choose one of the lamb dishes, but ended up ordering the Mixed Grill ($37). This included chicken shish, meatball, doner, lamb chop, and chicken chop, served with rice and vegetables. All the meats were pretty good, and well seasoned. The lamb chop and meatballs were my favorites. The lamb chop was tender and succulent. The meatballs were cooked to perfection, and slightly crispy. The chicken had a satisfying char on it and was full of flavor. I also enjoyed the rice, which was cooked just the right amount. In addition, there was a salad with a light vinaigrette, along with pickled veggie, as well as charred tomato. The salad added a fresh, crunchy element to the entree, but I would have preferred a variety of cooked vegetables. Service was solid and we were well taken care of throughout our time here. The waiter knew the menu well and was very pleasant. Overall, I think the Mixed Grill was a little expensive, so I would only return for lunch or dinner special. The Lamb Shank and Lamb Chops both sound appetizing.

Superb Turkish food at this cozy, friendly restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff efficient and gracious. Pleasant interior. Quiet. We were served a delicious soft yeasty bread and olive oil. Ordered the cold appetizer plate which was lovely and generous. I had a filleted whole trout served with a tasty red cabbage slaw and salad. Husband had lamb shank that was draped with a large slice of eggplant and a red pepper purée. This dish was absolutely outstanding and velvety smooth. For dessert, coffee and baklava. Bathroom clean. Everyone wearing masks. My only complaint was that they didn't bring fresh utensils between courses. I don't like putting used utensils on the table cloth. Highly recommend!
